I’ve had some people questioning my decision to still celebrate Christmas though I am an atheist. And I am wondering if others get flack for it?
I don’t see what’s wrong in being able to enjoy the time I have with my family while they’re in town or have time off of work from their busy lives. Or to give gifts to thank them for all they’ve done for me during the year even though I am sure to say my I love you’s and thank you’s all year round. And I am the biggest believer that gifts don’t have to be materialistic things. They can be simple things that come from the heart. I enjoy being with those I love and being able to celebrate and thank one another for another year we’ve had together.
So while some people may be celebrating someones birth, I have different reasons for celebrating. I don’t see a crime in that just because I don’t believe in a biblical sense.
